Safari Overview:
This safari will take you to search for the Big Five on private game drives in northern Tanzania’s best-known reserves and you experience the dramatic scenery of the Great Rift Valley and Ngorongoro Highlands, and explore the Serengeti’s sweeping plains. Track endangered black rhino and see lion, hyena and buffalo in Ngorongoro Crater. You will also have amazing moments to watch flamingos and hippo around the shores of Lake Manyara NP as that marks the end of your Tanzania Unforgettable.
Day 01: Tarangire to Witness the massive Elephant herds and Giant Baobab trees – Evening High tea.
Pick up in the morning in Arusha with 4x4x and drive to Tarangire National Park is a unique place and an absolutely fantastic in this time of the year. Viewing some of Tanzania’s largest populations of elephant and enjoying the diverse scenery, including the dramatic baobab trees that are so typical of the park. Enjoy a picnic lunch near the stretch of Tarangire River. More game drive until end of the day you drive to Lake Burunge Baobab Tented Lodge for dinner and overnight.
However, it is the pure delight and sheer pleasure of luxury tents that will remain with you for years to come, and will keep you returning, if only in spirit, to this delightfully dreamlike lodge. Sunset Hill is the perfect locations to sit atop and enjoy the deep orange sunsets that often welcome in the starry skies. With food and drinks served by one of the staffs, this is truly a magical experience not to be missed.
Day 02: Lake Manyara National Park – Game drive – High Tea.
After breakfast, drive the short distance to Lake Manyara National Park for game viewing to this unique park with an alkaline lake and breathtaking views. Here you will view a wide variety of wildlife and the acacia woodlands offer the best overall wildlife viewing in the park. Enjoy your picnic lunches under the Acacia trees. This habitat is favored by the park’s famous tree-climbing lions, leopards and giraffes and can claim the greatest elephant concentration in East Africa.
Algae thrive in the high saline content of the lake. Huge and colorful flocks of birds gather in the water to feed, including many different varieties of birds that coexist together. In fact, well over 300 different species of birds have been recorded here and later drive to the Lush retreat of Heart and Soul Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 03: Serengeti National Park – Afternoon game drive – Evening High Tea.
Breakfast, with picnic lunch’s drive to Serengeti National Park. Stop at Land of the Maasai—the iconic pastoralists of the East African savanna, known for their scarlet robes, their beadwork, and their legendary ceremonies. Pay a visit to a Maasai Manyatta, or village, where we’ll be greeted with a foot-stomping, high-jumping welcome dance. Immerse yourself in their world, learning about their customs. Meet the village elders, visit homes, and take part in a memorable cultural exchange.
Proceed to Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, dinner and overnight at Serengeti Central Lodge.
Day 04: Central Serengeti to see Mammals & Big cats – Romantic Sundowner during Sunsets.
Early Breakfast, Full day game drives in Serengeti National Park gets its name from the Maasai word Siringitu meaning endless Plain. Be amazed by the vast plains and the enormous amount of wildlife that can be seen here, and start counting the Big Five. Serengeti Seronera is well known as being home to a large number of big cats- lions, leopards and cheetahs. This does not deter the elephant, giraffe, hippo, crocodile, buffalo and impala who are also popular inhabitants of Seronera. Around midday you will stop for a break to enjoy a packed lunch and stretch your legs before jumping back in your jeep ready for another few hours of spotting the animals in the afternoon. At the end of the day you will return for dinner and overnight at Serengeti Central Lodge.
Day 05: In Search for the Great Migration & Predators – High tea + Private Dinner Under the Stars.
After awakening in the heart of the wilderness in your luxurious tent – surrounded by Edwardian-era
accents that evoke the classic safari camps of a century ago – your safari guide shares fascinating
insights about the African bush on your early morning game drive, as you observe the struggle of
species to survive in the “circle of life” within Serengeti National Park. Later, after lunch and another
game drive, relax by the Plunge pool at Chalet as the setting sun streaks the Tanzanian sky – a classic African safari doesn’t get any better than this. At the end of the day you return back to the lodge for cocktails, dinner and overnight at Serengeti Central Lodge.
Day 06: Half Day Game drive in Serengeti– Ngorongoro Highlands.
Early Breakfast, morning day game drives in Serengeti National Park gets its name from the Maasai word Siringitu meaning endless Plain. Be amazed by the vast plains and the enormous amount of wildlife that can be seen here, and start counting the Big Five. Serengeti Seronera is well known as being home to a large number of big cats- lions, leopards and cheetahs. Leave Serengeti and drive to Ngorongoro Crater rim for dinner and overnight at Endoro Lodge.
Day 07: Ngorongoro Crater Africa’s “Garden of Eden “to see Big 5 Animals + Game drives.
Early breakfast and today you will explore the famous Ngorongoro Crater during a wonderful game drive (with a picnic lunch) inside the Ngorongoro Crater often described as one of the wonders of the world. It is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest animal populations. It is one of the few places where the rare black rhino can be observed in their natural setting. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and other species. With a bit of luck, the ‘Big Five’ can be spotted during one game drive only. Later drive back for dinner and overnight at Endoro Lodge.
Day 08: Cycling Guided Bike Tour for 2 -3 Hours – Arusha Town.
Breakfast and drive the short distance to Mto wa Mbu village ready for to meet your local guide you will cycle through the green surrounding of Mto wa Mbu during this 2-3-hour excursion. You drive through the village, banana plantations, rice fields and also stop at the shore of Lake Manyara National Park. This is where flamingoes and wildebeest often mingle on the shore. Drive back to Arusha with picnic lunch ending your memorable safari with us.
